Salut à tous, hello there

Well yes, I was in India for christmas and nice bloody vacations :)it was crazy : I actually took SEVEN fucking planes... indeed I did. Well what can I say, I'm a plane addict, actually I love plane food... have no clue why as it is aweful (hahahaha). Well as you know work sucks gratelly... but ARE WE NEVER HAPPY? BLOODY FreaKin' HALLOWEEN!

I love to be wrong! I've always considered Halloween a commercial bloody boring capitalist party and yesterday - the 31st of October - was well memorable! Every one, all of the F**** New York people, all of them had a costume. It was incredible, they were all wearing all this unbelieavable stuff on them and well I have to say I got excited! yep yep, very indeed excited. Let's party, let's have some Halloween Shit and man was it wicked-cool-awesome :) Ok, Ok! I'm probably exagerating, but I have to say I appreciated the costume finding and dressing and the craziness of it all.

5:30 pm on October 31st
I'm on the phone with my friend Marie. And I'm like: so what an I gonna wear tonight? I don't have a costume, shit... Well, obviously, I thought I was gonna pass out on the whole halloween partying and was a bit convinced I was not the sort of person to get into a costume - well the least to fit in it (HAHAHAHAHA). So here, I am, home and nothing to bloody wear.... Marie did tell me that she was gona be a EURO TRASH literally. Yeah, well, I could be kinda trash, though I could not be Euro... Well, Marie told me to be creative. So well What the fuck...

No costume what so ever! ok, I have half an hour to get ready. Jessica (my flatemate is going to another party but preparing herself with me) tells me she has to go in half an hour so I better get myself ready quickly...

After leaving Jessica, I'm on my way to Marie's place. There... well, Marie got into BIG trouble with the bloody fake eye lashes that refused to bloody stick... simply CRAZY. Then Marie got some beers, GOOD beers, Red Stripe. Miam miam... She also made sure I understood that for the night we were on a liquid-bloody-diet. Alcohol. God, I was VERY hungry :p We did manage to eat some cold pizza, burger and fries. Quite the diet.

Someone once told me it was very sexy seeing someone put on some makeup. Then, later one I read one of my friend's writing essays and he tought a girl putting on some makeup in the tube was incredibly sexy and enticing... I was not sure I shared their opinion so I decided to take some pictures and see for myself. And that's what I think... Someone that makes him or herself up is a private, lonely, intimate moment... and it is indeed gorgeous

Good food after a good film!

On Tuesday night, man I was tired but Jessica and I had decided that we were going to go see the French movie: Le Père Noël est une ordure! It is like THE french film, cultissime unbelieable. It was directed by Jean-Marie Poiré in 1982. I had actually never seen it but everyone was like: "What, you've never seen this movie? But it's so famous!!!" Bloody hell, I had indeed to see it, just for general culture. We went to the theater playing Le Père Noël est une ordure - this place is called l'Alliance Française. It was incredible : the theater was full of French and Americans and Man the film was SO freaking HILARIOUS. After my horrible day, it was a wicked blast and such a nice way to relax... Have to get the dvd now.

Let's have some diner now!
Well, obviously by the time we got out of the cinema, me and Jess were craving food. We didn't want to go somwhere fancy, might as well get some cheap good food in a nice place than hit the top kind of restaurants and be disappointed. So, we headed to Union Square, kindof midtown east side (I'm such a lousy direction-orientation person!). Well, you know: Union Square :D Jess knew a nice Vietnamese. We ended up witnessing some interesting characters :

- first this guy was out with his girlfriend and I don't know what happened, but he was bitching about the tip and did not want to leave his waitress one. The thing is, they waited for there food and all, but the waitresses here in the US make their money basically out of tips so EVERYONE always leaves a tip. I mean that's how it is... Well, whatever, he could do whatever he wanted, but what a Looser to do that in front of his girlfriend or girlfriend to be... I mean, just shut the fuck up, invite the girl, give 2 bucks to the waitress if she was lousy and get on with your life... But, he ended up not doing anything and saying he did leave her a tip... Jess checked his bill at the end: not a bloody cent.

- second guy, this old - but who looks quite young - guy that was eating alone, he was on our right. He's the type of guy whose totally loaded, still a bachelor and living a nice life. Probably a lawyer or like a corporate something... What was so nice, was thqt he was a proper Manhattan guy, had lived all his life here, born here and well... who knows for the future. But, he was very interesting, had traveled quite a bit and spoke some nice french...

So, one meets all types of people while having some food - apparently :)

So what can you do after a bloody tiring day with tiring people that just make you want to scream like hell and say What the Bloody Hell is happening? Well, what do you do when you're surrounded by hypocrisy? I would say: GET DRUNK, HAVE FUN, BLOODY THINK OF SOMETHING ELSE than how life is sometimes a bit "shitty"...

Why not BINGO?
Yes, yes, yes, yes... I played Bingo at Pete's Candy Store. What a funky night out, totally delirious. So, this woman calls numbers and you just check if you've got them to on your little plate (everyone knows how to play Bingo, except a certain Sohini...). Hey, no laughing... So in between an old lady, a gay couple, a chinese group and an american one, me and Jessica were just at Home. Well, we obviously drank some beers (try the Brooklyn beer, quite good) and.... We ended drunk. At a bloody bingo night. Man, that is impossible but well, even a little amount of alcohol on an empty stomach is effective. Then, the bar transforms into this live music bar. Well, by then, Jess and I walked than run (to catch the bus) home and we forgot our parapluie... sad sad sad...

Today is well like every day.
I don’t know how much I love my life but what I do know is that life made of habits is a bit dull, especially at the ripe age of 23 years old. Well, you can imagine that I am not that stupid in letting my self down, thus forcing myself to practice things I would never have thought of doing or just getting back in what I most love: painting! God I love to paint.
One day, a friend of mine asked me why I liked painting and what was I actually thinking while painting? Bloody hell, I don’t actually know. That’s why when I last painted – this weekend… I tried to analyse my feelings.
Man, how could I put it? It’s like what’s inside me comes out and takes the form of anything on a canvas. I mean, everything begins with the first stroke of my brush. After I just think, what colours I want to see on the canvas? And then my mind just goes blank and something exciting comes out of it... This weekend I felt like gold and red… what can I say? Painting, letting yourself go, not thinking about anything else than what you are doing… That’s how I feel.
Ok so let see how YOU guys feel about my painting, though not a lot of people are leavings comments ☺

A film, the film…

Yesterday was a quite hectic day!
I live in this huge 160 m2 loft, which has a bit of a bohemian ambiance. It’s very relaxed, with huge tables, different types of chairs, an artistic kind of table, and an awesome RED kitchen. The view is actually perfect, as in: I can see the whole freaking NY… Love it. But, the thing is, that we are in dire need of sofas… And, there is no way we can pay for like The perfectly designed couch.
So, Jessica and I (Jessica is my flatmate, really wicked and cheeky) decided to go on a trip to get one or two sofas. The thing is: well, getting a sofa for free, like found around the corner is not as easy as it could seem… We also wanted to buy some red and yellow paint to liven up our home. After walking around in the very hip Williamsburg area, we didn’t find a thing. Actually, Jess and I were more interested in the vintage shoes and clothes, the little diners and coffee shops. We ended up going to a flea and artists market which was a bit of everything… I was in awe before real flower necklaces. But, hell, I’m already broke so that would not have been a good choice.

The Last Kiss
In the night, I went to the see a movie with my friends Marie and Sarvi, The Last Kiss, by Tony Goldwyn. This film is not at all a romantic comedy or anything of the sort. It’s a view – a cynical one? – on relationships between people. First of all, the cast was extremely good: Zach Braff plays the perfect guy that can’t help thinking about how planned and unsurprising his life is with his three month old pregnant girlfriend. Rachel Bilson plays this bimbo-little-girl bitch, who’ll do everything or like anything to get the man she wants, even though he’s with someone. Casey Affleck (who is by the way totally gorgeous) plays the nice, too kind husband who has to deal with an over stressed wife and their baby… And it goes on and on. Well, the story’s point is to show that nothing is black and white but bloody grey and that is what makes it very difficult. Life is hell to deal with and joy only exists in fairy tales… After the movie, my friends and I were like talking. The hot topic was: If your guy cheated on you, would you leave him or not? In this film, the girl whose cheated on is pregnant…
Personally, I don’t have a F****ing clue. Knowing me, I would definitely ditch the ass that did that to me. But, what if, it was only a one-life mistake. The question arose: are one time cheaters always cheaters? Or, if a guy cheats, it's just a way for him to get it out of his system and being sure that the girl he’s with is actually THE ONE?
The debate is open!

Sleepless?

Hey guys!
Finally, I’m in New York, and enjoying my self like hell! I arrived two weeks ago, had to furnish my whole bloody apartment which was quite hard, because the price of a good and fit bed is scary. Well, fortunately my parents were with me and helped me out a lot. The two of them were wicked, and I got to eat in some nice places (which will now be impossible for me, as I’m like poor☺). We went to the restaurant called Daniel (Daniel Boulud). Man oh man: the foie gras, the veal, the desert… Apparently Gordon Ramsey is going to actually open a restaurant here, the F word is conquering the world, and I hope to get a chance to try it… Who knows? I might be enthused by English food, which was not the case when I was in London.

I also started to work… And what can I say?
It’s interesting, and that’s like a nice way of putting it. A gentle way actually! I’m always complaining, but it is only the start and I might be positively surprised. I am enjoying what I do though, it’s just I have this uncomfortable feeling that I would like to work, as in having a career, and stop those bloody inter-f***ing-ships.
So, well, New York has an owned reputation of being the city where one never sleeps. Literally, I’ve not yet been able to have a good night's sleep.

First WeEk in NeW YorK!

Il est 5h du mat, je n'ai pas dormi de la nuit, je suis crevée, stressée mais contente à la fois. Aujourd'hui - enfin dans quelques heures - je pars pour New York. (C'est horrible, à chaque fois que j'écris ou que je dis New York, j'ai une chanson qui me tourne dans la tête avec les mêmes mots!). Après six mois à Londres, à la London School of Journalism, je refais mes bagages et je m'applique à caser le plus d'affaires possibles dans la plus grosse valise trouvée à la maison. Je fais un premier tas sur mon lit, un tas de tout ce que j'aimerais emporter! Bien sûr, autant dire qu'entre aimer et pouvoir, il y a un vaste monde! Du coup, je réduis mes affaires de moitié et j'arrive à tout mettre -tant bien que mal - dans ma valise. Mais, le tout fait 30 kilos et je n'ai le droit qu'à 20 kilos. Bloody Hell! Je m'évertue donc à encore une fois trier mes hauts, vestes, sacs, pantalons et chaussures... Je refile quelques indispensables à ma mère ou à mon père (qui viennent à New York avec moi pour une petite semaine) et le tour est joué!

Le taxi nous dépose à Charles de Gaulle, ma valise est énourmousse et bien difficile à porter. On s'enregistre, nos sacs passent aux rayons X, sont fouillés et encore et encore fouillés avant que l'on puisse tranquilement s'installer dans la salle d'embarquement. Dans l'avion Air France, je me gave de films, de jeux (genre Qui veut gagner des millions), de cartoons si bien que franchement, les 7h15 d'avions passent comme une lettre à la Poste. Je ne vais pas me plaindre.
L'arrivée à New York connaît quelques turbulences mais nous arrivons (moi, mon père et ma mère) à bon port!

Je pars pour Brooklyn, là ou se trouve ma maison, mon appart', mon loft de ouf et surtout mon nouveau chez moi! C'est dur de se dire que tout recommence, mais je prends de l'élan pour m'élancer et vivre ma vie at 100 %! Alors vive la légerté et l'humour...
